Joseph C. Mattox, president of Mattox Customcraft, has been doing body work since he was 15 years old.  He started fixing wrecked cars and painting tractors out of his fathers garage.  S.L. Mattox had a business of his own back then, Mattox Sales.  Sherwood sold cars and tractors from the lot where Mattox Customcraft now stands.  Many in Bourbon have either bought or had a car repaired by a Mattox, and will recount it fondly. We like to Keep it in the family as it were, keeping this business family owned is one of its charms.  Joe's wife, daughter, son, sisters, nephews, and even his son-in-law have worked there at one time or another.
